What are your best parental practices? (889 hits)

As parents, our thoughts are preoccupied with developing approaches that have a positive impact on our children's attitudes and behaviors. At least that's what goes on in my household, in the guidance that I'm providing to my five-year-old son. We can all agree that no one has all of the right answers. There are even times when we are prone to mishaps, miscues and mistakes. But we do have a sense of what is working best for us. So, my question to you is,

"What are your best practices for equipping your children for abundant living?"

And just so you know, my definition of abundant living has everything to do with relationships based on service to God and neighbor rather than the hoarding of material wealth and possessions. We receive concrete and abstract blessings so that these same blessings can be shared with others.

I look forward to reading your responses.

Oh, Bro. Jeff,
I am so far behind on mail, but this is an excellent post.

First of all, my best practice for equipping children for abundant living is by example. this is because children are just so impressionable beyond what we expect.

I made quality time each chance I had and kept God's presence in our home with church and conveersations and Sunday school, etc.

I made it my responsibility to teach them humanity and charity and strong values and ethics. I hoped to teach them to work hard keeping God first in all that they strived for and believe their efforts would be rewarded.

Second, I would like to tell you about a site known as Providual which is taking on the best practice mission as well. Would you please visit Providual at www.providual.com and participate in-kind?

I am so sorry that time is so broke for me right now, but I promise to visit more often and sit down and talk with you. smile. Keep up the good work inspiring us...

Peace and love
