The IT Business Analyst will play a key role in supporting enterprise-wide infrastructure modernization initiatives, with a primary focus on helping application teams upgrade or migrate their platforms to supported versions of operating systems and databases. This role directly contributes to the organizations evergreen strategy by driving the remediation of applications running on obsolete or extended-support technologies.

Key Responsibilities
Partner with Application Teams: Engage with application owners and technical teams to assess current-state environments and determine upgrade or migration requirements for operating systems and databases.
Plan and Coordinate Upgrades: Facilitate structured planning discussions using established project methodologies and guidelines to define the appropriate upgrade approach, scope, and timeline for each application.
Execute Against Plans: Track, monitor, and drive execution of application upgrade activities, ensuring progress aligns with agreed-upon schedules and enterprise objectives.
Risk, Issue & Decision Management: Document and maintain clear, accurate records of risks, issues, decisions, assumptions, and dependencies throughout each upgrade or migration effort.
Cross-Team Facilitation: Work across matrixed teams - including infrastructure, security, database, and application developmentto remove impediments, escalate blockers, and ensure successful delivery.
Communication & Reporting: Provide regular status updates, progress reporting, and stakeholder communication to ensure transparency and alignment across business and technical groups.
Support Standards & Compliance: Ensure upgrade paths adhere to enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, and technology lifecycle policies.
Qualifications
Experience supporting infrastructure, application lifecycle, or platform upgrade initiatives.
Strong analytical, documentation, and facilitation skills.
Ability to coordinate work across multiple teams and manage competing priorities.
Familiarity with operating system and database lifecycle management is a plus.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Participate with peer groups in Tech and other lines of businesses (LOBs) to identify, document and communicate business needs and provide technology solutions.
2. Work closely with business stakeholders to understand business processes and strategies. Ensure all stakeholders are involved in requirements gathering activities.
3. Establish project and work requests requirements using document, business process and workflow analysis.
4. Plan, elicit, capture, analyze and validate business, functional and/or technical requirements.
5. Participate in or facilitate requirements elicitation sessions and walkthroughs.
6. Perform current state analysis of existing business systems, applications and functions.
7. Prepare user interface diagrams, business process and workflow diagrams in support of small work requests (enhancements) or large scale project implementations.
8. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with business process owners and other stakeholders to develop acceptance criteria and a plan to facilitate user acceptance testing of a solution that meets the business requirements.
9. Attend project status meetings and provide regular updates to the project teams through regular presentations, status reports and meeting minutes.
10. Develop understanding of core systems, applications and technical platforms.
11. Observe strict adherence to all Technology and Truist policies and standards (e.g. Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Change Management, etc).

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

1. Associates degree in Information Technology-related field, or equivalent education and related training
2. Two years of information technology experience with significant experience in software development
3. Two years of experience as a business analyst or related role/experience, with experience in one or more of the following areas: Project Management, Business Process Management Relationship Management, Business Operations, or Quality Management
4. Ability to work independently or as a member of a team
5. Experience with traditional Waterfall SDLC and/or Agile/Lean methodologies work requests/project requirements
6. Strong presentation, verbal and written skills
7. Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, activities and tasks under time constraints
8. Ability to effectively interface with staff at all levels
9. Exceptional communication, teamwork and influencing skills that foster a collaborative and continuous-improvement environment
10. Strong ability to resolve conflicts, excellent facilitation and organizational skills
11. Strong critical and analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
12. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products
13. Knowledgeable of core business functions, processes and workflows associated with assigned business areas and projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)

2. Deep functional expertise in one or more of the following areas: merger integration, Business/IT transformation program/project management, Operations/Process Improvement

3. Monitor and drive activities for existing planned upgrades to ensure engineering and application teams are meeting deadlines

4. Ability to balance multiple priorities

5. Ability to solve problems by leveraging past experiences and knowledge through partnership with applications and operations

6. Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills for the purpose of providing and explaining project information and status to management, staff, and vendors

7. Share lessons learned and proposed improvements with leadership and peers to allow for continuous process improvements across team

8. Ability to keep calm under pressure and drive your teams during difficult situations

9. Ability to follow predefined processes and procedures, but ability to identify situations where the team needs to be adaptable to be successful
